Standardisation of IT
Areas of activity
We are involved in the standardisation work related to our field of interest
such as:
- Open Systems
- Security in Open Systems
- Internationalisation of software applications and services
- Character sets coding for data interchange etc.
We are supporting and chairing the Slovenian Committee for
standardisation in the information technology and we are representing
Slovenia in ISO JTC1,
ISO JTC1 SC2 and
SC22,
CEN TC304 (another link to
TC304)
and EWOS. We are
deeply involved in the development of the international emerging standards
in the field of character sets technology, internationalisation and data
interchange.
Results
Most of the results of the research and development work have appeared in many
conference papers and scientific journals in the field. Some of the relevant
operational results are:
- Development of the I.B1, I.A1 and I.K1 series of Yugoslav (JUS) standards
for coded character sets, keyboards and data representation (1984-1991)
- Long term program of national standardisation: Data Interchange and
Communications, 1988
- POSIX Locale for Slovenian
Participation in the international projects
- Cyrillic coded character set for VIDEOTEX, CEN PT 04 1992
- User Requirements for Character Sets Standards and
Internationalization of the Information Technology, CEN PT 01, 1994
