The Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks is a partner in the NICE-GLOBAL project. For the purpose of experiments within the project Telekom Slovenije assisted us at establishing the first international 155 Mbps ATM link in Slovenia. This link connects us with the European ATM network maintained by the JAMES project for the purpose of research and development. The lab is equipped with the following ATM and multimedia equipment:

• IBM 8285 NWays ATM switch
• FORE SBA200 ATM adapter in a Sun WS
• FORE PCA200E ATM adapter
• 12 IBM TURBOWAYS 25 ATM PCI adapters
• 2 multimode optical links to the multimedia presentation room
• audio equipment for the presentation room

We participated in the latest NICE-GLOBAL trial with rented video equipment, but we plan to have our own for the November 1997 trial.
